Generic ink cartridges came almost at 2004 They take basic ink cartridge nozzle and design an ink tank by making a simple plastic mold from the original ink cartridge. But the quality of a printer is not so good that time.
Nowadays, generic cartridges are way better than before but you have to shop around to find the best one because there are lots of Indian and Chinese manufactured ink cartridges. Available which I prefer you don’t need to buy.
Now there is another way by using which you can reduce the cost of your ink cartridges and that is Refilling. There are two ways of refilling the ink cartridges.
1: - Modify your Printer
First Step is to fit larger ink tanks in your printer by modifying it and you can refill your ink tanks from your home
2: -Go to store for refilling
Second Step is to go to your near Printer store & refill your ink cartridges.
Now the question arises which one is better if you ask me in my point of view refilling is a waste of time and it’s the worst way to save money the important thing to remember is that every company who offers refill ink use the same ink for every cartridge so it does not matter whether you have a most expensive ink cartridge or cheap one.
So I can say that Generic ink Cartridge is better option to choose instead of refill because the actual ink quality is better matched to the printer. But I don’t use it I prefer buy a new ink Cartridge but some people swear by generic ink cartridges so I only recommend them for black and white printing where quality doesn’t matter.
So my final conclusion is genuine ink cartridges still the only way to go when quality is important such as digital photos etc. but you must understand if your printer is in warranty then don’t try to use any other ink cartridges because when you go to claim the warranty all printer manufacturers will rip up your warranty in your face if they can prove you have been using non-genuine ink cartridges.
